With the expansion of offshore activities the demand for metocean services is growing. Measurement stations, buoys and ships can not adequately cover the full span of the world's oceans and seas and therefore the role of satellite enabled services is growing.

BMT ARGOSS uses satellite observations and meteorological and oceanographic models to compile and analyse complex and essential environmental information to support planning of maritime operations and design of offshore and coastal structures. Our service portfolio includes for example; metocean hindcasting and forecasting, tidal and ocean current analysis, shallow water bathymetry analysis and high resolution atmospheric modelling.

Example of an operationBMT ARGOSS has built up global databases with long-term satellite measurements of wind, waves and tides and maintains state of the art wind, wave and tidal models.

Currently we have up to 16 years of high quality wind and wave model hindcast data available. The wave model is also used to provide forecasts for offshore and near shore locations world wide. Our tidal models provide accurate tidal information on both water level variations and tidal currents. Most metocean data is readily available in house but when required we can set up regional models to provide the detail and accuracy required for a specific project.

In addition to the wind, wave and tidal services mentioned BMT ARGOSS also provides high resolution atmospheric hindcast and forecast modelling services and cost effective solutions for shallow water bathymetry and air and water quality monitoring.
